The Zastava M88A is an upgraded version of the M88, featuring an external safety on the slide.

The M88A pistol was produced by the Yugoslavian (now Serbian) arms manufacturer Crvena Zastava. It saw limited use as a service pistol with the Yugoslav police and military but was eventually replaced by the higher-capacity CZ 99 series. However, it is still occasionally used as a training pistol in some Serbian military camps.

Designed as an improved version of the Tokarev-based M57 and M70 pistols, the M88A features a more compact frame and is chambered in 9mm Luger.
