Zastava M83 – Yugoslavian Military & Police Revolver (.357 Magnum)
The Zastava M83 is a robust, classic revolver originally produced by the Yugoslavian state arms factory Crvena Zastava. First made for export, it was later adopted by the Yugoslavian Army and police forces in the late 1980s. Following the dissolution of Yugoslavia, the M83 continued in service throughout the region—including in Serbia and Macedonia—issued primarily to army non-commissioned officers and law enforcement personnel.
Built on a traditional heavy steel frame, the M83 is a six-shot revolver chambered in .357 Magnum, with compatibility for .38 Special rounds for reduced recoil and more cost-effective practice. It features a 4" barrel, side-swinging cylinder with a left-side release latch, and a double-action/single-action trigger system. The exposed hammer, frame-mounted firing pin, and automatic transfer bar safety system enhance both functionality and user safety.
Smooth double-action trigger pull and crisp, light single-action, the M83 is engineered for long-term durability and reliability. With fixed sights and full-steel construction, this revolver is built to endure years of continuous use in demanding environments.
