First introduced in 1962. The Tanfoglio GT380 is a compact, single-action, direct blowback, steel-framed pistol chambered .380 ACP, manufactured by the Italian firearm company Tanfoglio.

The pistol’s general profile and design slightly resemble that of a Beretta 84 with an open slide, although this particular pistol has a shorter barrel and slide than the standard model.

This pistol also has the magazine release lever at the heel of the grip, and two manual safeties. A frame-mounted safety lever just in front of the left grip panel disconnects the trigger mechanism, while the slide-mounted safety lever prevents the hammer from engaging the firing pin when dropped. In this way, this safety acts as both a manual drop safety, as well as a mechanism to safely, manually de-cock the hammer.
