The "GT" line of pistols was founded in 1962. Tanfoglio GT32E is a compact, single-action, direct blowback, steel-framed pistol chambered 7.62mm "32 ACP" manufactured by the Italian firearm company Tanfoglio.

The pistol’s general profile and design slightly resemble that of a Beretta 84 with an open slide, although this particular pistol has a shorter barrel and slide than the standard model.

This pistol also has the magazine release lever at the heel of the grip. A frame-mounted safety lever just in front of the left grip panel disconnects the trigger mechanism.
