Model 28PK - A more compact variant of Model 28. Was adopted by Spanish National Police Corps.

The Model 28PK with Model 31 mods has a "ball" on the end of the barrel to stabilize it. It has the frame, including marking, of a 28PK, but with a 31PK slide and other upper components. NOTE: We believe the 28PK received are the 28/30 Hybrids. They do not match the standard 28 or 28M Specs. A single footnote was found when researching regarding the 28PK (28/31)

Star Pistols have served with distinction throughout the world since the 1920s. In 1983, the Star Model 28 competed favorably against the Beretta M9 for the US Military Contract, claiming its place as one of the original Wonder Nine pistols of the Reagan Era. Similarities with competitors Sig Sauer, Beretta, and Smith & Wesson are all evident.

Specs are traditional double and single-action semi-auto pistols. The 9mm. Action is cammed blowback with a one-piece steel guide rod that has a completely enclosed spring. The barrel is 3 7/8 inch 6 grooves right-hand twist conventional rifling. Construction is steel slide, barrel, hammer housing assembly, and parts anchored into a semi-gloss black anodized frame. Safety is ambidextrous slide mounted, not a decocker; this pistol will carry cocked and locked. The trigger is wide steel smooth-faced .400 combat, with a .308 wide Commander-style hammer. Sights are milled serrated integral front ramp with dovetailed in Windage adjustable dot blade rear. The weight empty is 31.2 ounces.
