Here we have an example of a J. Stevens Arms Company Model 108, patented on August 12, 1913. This model features an automatic extractor and Stevens patent dual 12mm/.410 bore with a 26" barrel.

Stevens Arms is an American firearms manufacturer founded by Joshua Stevens in 1864 in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. Over the years Stevens has been purchased/sold. Starting with New England Westinghouse in 1915 specifically to fulfill a contract to produce 1.8 million Mosin-Nagant rifles for Czar Nicholas II of Russia for use in World War I. In 1920 Stevens was acquired by Savage the largest producer of arms in the United States at the time. Most recently Vista Outdoors acquired Savage & Stevens in 2019.
