Beistegui M&P 5" 38 Long CTG is a Spanish copy of a Smith & Wesson revolver. We were not able to find detailed examples of this exact item. Based on what we did find on Beistegui, we believe this to be pre- 1920. No date stamp or SN Codex is available.

Beistegui Hermanos S.A. (lit. "Beistegui Brothers") was founded by the Beistegui Albestegui brothers (Domingo, Juan and Cosme) in 1909 in Eibar, Spain as a firearm manufactuar. In 1913, the company had four employees; this number grew to 40 in 1916. After the end of World War I, the company was hit by a crisis that affected industries of that sort in Spain which cut its workforce by half. Beistegui Hermanos started developing bicycles in 1923.

Sometime after that, Beistegui Hermanos stopped producing firearms entirely and focused solely on the production of bicycles; Beistegui Hermanos was a household name in the cycling scene by 1935. The company added motorcycles to its repertoire in 1955 and was renamed BH (a contraction of their name) sometime after that, and moved to a larger plant in Vitoria in 1959; the plant was closed in 2010 and all current production of BH products is carried out in Portugal and China.
