The Makarov pistol or PM is a Soviet semi-automatic pistol. Under the project leadership of Nikolay Fyodorovich Makarov, it became the Soviet Union's standard military side arm in 1951. This is an Arsenal, Bulgaria Makarov chambered in 9x18 Makarov.  Bulgarian Makarovs are arguably the best and most sought-after Makarov Variant due to Arsenal’s uncompromised quality. Utilizing a chrome-lined fixed barrel, straight blowback design results in a more accurate pistol with fewer moving parts additionally increasing dependability. The Makarov pistol has a DA/SA – Double Action / Single Action trigger operation with a manually actuated safety lever which also acts as a decocker.
